Questionnaire

The starting point for any Ayurvedic treatment is a consultation with an Ayurvedic physician.

This is an integral part of Ayurveda as it increases the effectiveness of any therapy. Once your constitution is determined, the physician will then be able to construct a therapy package, provide a prescription or give beneficial lifestyle advice to suit your unique constitution.

With the expertise from various senior Ayurvedic physicians, we have developed an online Doshic Evaluation Test to determine your Prakriti, or constitutional balance.

Once completed, the test will calculate your constitution/condition and tell you where the balance of your doshas lie. You will then be able to learn more about the characteristics of your mind-body type and find out the signs of any imbalance to your system. Knowing your Ayurvedic constitutional type will allow you to understand your mind and physiology and will allow you to interpret with your metabolic signals better.

In order to determine your type, try to answer according to how you have felt and behaved over the course of your lifetime, or at least for many years, and not based on the past few months or how you would like to be. Remember, you are trying to define your basic constitution here; think about the instances when you were very healthy and happy. Let us say for arguments sake, it is Vata 60, Pitta 30 and Kapha 10. You are a Vata person with Pitta as your secondary dosha.

The test will determine your Prakriti based on the answers you supply. Each set of questions has three options. You should select the best option that describes you. You can only select one out of the three. To select an item, click on the button to the left of the selection. If you want to choose another selection, click on that button. (The last selection only counts.)

Some questions deal with your physical traits such as colour of eyes, hair etc. Here the answer should be obvious. For questions such as build, complexion etc, compare yourself to other members of your community or race. The remaining questions deal with behavioural and mental characteristics. The answers are subjective. Be as honest as you can. Remember, this is to get your self profile. If you need help, ask your close friends or spouse to help you in coming up with appropriate answers.

After you complete the questionnaire, click on the button marked Calculate to proceed. The test, when completed, will give your Ayurvedic Prakriti.
